Sveinbjörn Beinteinsson

It definitely is a popular style of garb among the go... Sjá meiraði's of Iceland. In reality though it isn't of viking period and is nearer in style to the 14th century. I have usually noticed Sveinbjörn wearing clothes that are more stylized that probably fitted his taste better, they usually don't fit into any period. The majority, if not always, Sveinbjörn wore tunics that have open cuffs. The vikings wore tunics with cuffs that were very close to the skin. Secondly the tunics didn't usually go more than a foot past the knee. But it's all a matter of taste anyways, so you can choose what you think looks good or you can also go the traditional route.
